VINEYARD DETAILS

  • The vineyard was planted in 1999 and contains approximately 5,000 vines.
  • The 5,000 vines are divided roughly into 2500 Zinfandel, 1340 Syrah, 660 Grenache and 500 Viognier.
  • The Zinfandel vines are planted on the slopes of the canyon on St. George rootstock. Replants are on 110R.
  • Approximately 75 Petite Syrah and 36 Primitivo vines are scattered throughout the Zin for complexity and color.
  • Replants are on 110R.
  • The Syrah stretches along the ridge. It is Durell clone on 3309 rootstock.
  • Replants are also on 110R rootstock.
  • The Grenache is the block just north of the barn. It was budded over in 2011 from Syrah on 3309 rootstock.
  • The Viognier lies in two small blocks along the north side of the Syrah. It was budded over from Syrah in 2011 from 3309. The buds were FPS 01 certified.
  • The crop is primarily purchased by Adobe Road on a two year evergreen.
  • All grapes in 2014 will be priced at $3150/ton with a single $750 additional payment to cover transportation costs.
